Getting started

Quick start: your first scannable code in 10 minutes

Last updated on 15 Jul, 2026

1. Run your first audit

Open EasyLink → GTIN audit and click Run audit. EasyLink scans every variant in your catalog (a few thousand variants takes a minute or two) and classifies each barcode as valid, missing, malformed, internal, or duplicate.

2. Pick a valid variant

Click the Valid GTINs tile to filter to variants that are ready. Choose any product and click Get code.

3. Publish it

The code page shows your product's GS1 Digital Link — a QR code and a GS1 Data Matrix. Click Publish to 506.link. From that moment the code is live: scans resolve to your product page.

4. Scan it

Point your phone camera at the QR code on screen. You should land on the product's page in your online store. That exact code is what will print on your labels.

5. Print labels

Go to Labels, choose a label sheet or roll (or build a custom layout), tick any extras you want on the label (SKU, price, logo), and Download PDF. Print, stick, done — the printed code scans at 2D-capable retail checkouts and on any phone.

What next?

  • Fix the barcodes the audit flagged — see Fixing barcode issues.

  • Watch your scans arrive in Analytics.

  • On the Free plan you can publish 25 codes; see Plans and billing when you're ready for more.
